Henk Jonkers obtained his PhD in Marine Microbiology at Groningen University (1999) and worked until 2006 as research scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen and chairs since then as Associate Professor the Sustainability group within the Materials & Environment section at the CEG Faculty of the Delft University of Technology. His current research concerns development of innovative-, bio-based- and sustainable construction materials and he is scientific advisor of DUT spinoff company basiliskconcrete.com.
