Waal completed her education at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the department 'Man and Public Space." She now works as an artist, designer and brewer.
Her intervention domain is the public space and her goal is the exploration of customs, social patterns, local relations and their changes.
Fermentation is an important feature of her work. It recurs in beer-making, her participation as Beer-curator at Mediamatic's Bierberaad, and also in the NIMBY toilet. Don't think this is art? She does, and can tell you why.
