Contemporary Culture Center “Desht-e-Art” (Kazakhstan, Karaganda) was founded as an integral part of the NGO “Laboratory of Social Development” in 2000.

The Center’s name originates from the ancient geographical name Desht-e-Kyptchak (the second half of 2000 AD). It was the name of vast steppes within the present Kazakhstani territory where Kazakh nomadic culture dominated. “Kyptchak Steppes” is a most correct translation of this word combination. Consequently, Desht-e-Art means Art of Steppes.

Aims:
to develop techniques for prospective modifications in cultural communication and contemporary museum practices;
to promote a versatile international communication in the World of Art and Culture by means of seminars, master-classes, conferences, exhibitions, art shows and art actions;
