Over the span of almost three decades ARCOmadrid has worked tirelessly towards its goal of becoming a core centre for the art market, focussing all its efforts on promoting and diffusing the latest contemporary creations, becoming a meeting place for exchange and dialogue for all the different players in the art world, and attracting collectors, buyers and lovers of art as it lays the foundations for a solid world-class commercial platform.
This year, ARCOmadrid is lending special attention to the various sections revolving around its General Programme which features galleries from thirty nine different countries, with the mission to showcase in one single space the very best contemporary art of the moment. The special focus of this year's event is India, with a broad-ranging selection of galleries and artists giving us an excellent idea of the current art scene in India which has been attracting a lot of attention over recent years as one of the most promising centres for contemporary art in the 21st century.
The impact of ARCOmadrid on the city of Madrid throughout the month of February makes it a world art capital, impregnating the whole city with art and creativity thanks to the dedication and efforts of museums, art centres, alternative spaces and public Institutions which have been collaborating hand in hand with IFEMA over these last 28 years in the diffusion of culture and art.
