Father of lithographer Adolf Giltsch. Former servant (Hausmann) at the Jena Botanical Gardens. Later, he founded the print shop in Jena: Giltsch Lithographische Anstalt Jena ("Lithographie- & Steindruckerei)", worked for Ernst Haeckel.
