Herbs that serve as pain killers have a sedative, anti-inflammatory, or antispasmodic (anti-cramping) effect on the body, typically without the negative effects that prescription or over-the-counter painkillers can possess. Pain killing herbs can also contribute to treatment of the ailment or disorder.
