Johanna is inspired by the living network of mycelium
Participant Meet a Maker
Johanna makes wild natural forms out of ceramics. She is inspired by the challenge of working against the material properties of porcelain to make these sculptures, but says that in the end, the material dictates the form. She says this is similar to the way that as a living material, the mycelium in the pigeon towers ultimately choses the direction of the project.
