If your final destination is situated in the heart of Noord, it’s best to travel by bus. To travel by bus, you must purchase a public transport chip card (or ‘OV-chipkaart’ in Dutch), or buy a single way ticket. The best thing for tourists is to buy a disposable public transport chip card, as those are cheaper than single tickets. It already carries some balance for the first few trips.
