In 1986, two new issues of Mediamatic Magazine are launched, Volume 1#1 and 1#2. In addition, there are various events in which video art is the main theme, again in cooperation with Artotheek Groningen.
The subject in these editions, VOL 1#1 and VOL 1#2 are two aspects of media art; the role of mass media and the media artist in society; the design of the equipment the media artist makes use of. Also attention for the substantive consequences of a reduction of funding from the government for media art that was a threat that year.
