Mediamatic 1983

In the summer of 1983 Willem Velthoven, Jan Wijle, Frits Maats, Barbara Pyle, Marieken Verheyen and Willem Mulder establish Mediamatic to support artists in the use of new technologies and to promote their work.

Poster for "Ooghoogte" - Poster for "Ooghoogte" a video art and performance event organized by Mediamatic at Artotheek Groningen. The posters were silk screen printed on 102x72cm coated stock and and illegally sign posted through the city of Groningen by the organizing members of Mediamatic.

The first event was held in Grand Theater in Groningen. Later on Mediamatic got work space in "The Faun" at the Zuiderdiep in Groningen. There they organized video presentation evenings on a regular basis. 

On December the 16th 1983 Ooghoogte took place, a video art and performance event organised by Mediamatic at Artotheek Groningen.
