This workshop at the World Wide Video Festival was held at the
Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam.
The participants were mainly video artists from different countries. There were participants from Spain, the UK, Austria, Russia, the Netherlands, Peru and Brasil working on their projects either together or alone. They used Kurosawa's film Rashomon (1950) as basic material to make their own interactive story. It was very interesting to see how the participants used the material, each in a completely different way. While some were exploring the system, others were looking for a way to create a coherent interactive narrative.The results varied from the Rashomon Dance Experience by Pedro Vilela and Diego Lama that used fast editing on a well chosen score, to a more emotional interpretation of the material called Japanese Drama by Almagul Menlibayeva.
