Jin Lee (1990, KR) is an object designer currently living and working in the Netherlands who has recently graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
Jin Lee’s work sits between serious fun and funny seriousness. Slightly amused by rigid human identities, the pieces aspire to gift introspective calm and outgoing lightness. Belonging to everyone and no one at the same time, Jin’s pieces poke the viewer to test their willingness to be pleasantly confused. Balance, they seem to suggest, is a matter of perpetual disorientation.
