“In Order to Smile in a Tin Box" includes various elements that capture the essence of nightlife. Complementing these images, the exhibition also incorporates the sense of smell into the experience. The scent made in our Aroma Lab is reminiscent of the smell of sweat, the same smell lingering in the nightclub adjacent area that Jesse created by imitating the scent of his own sweat, giving a more human element to the overall experience.
Nonetheless, the prime focus of the exhibition is the photographs, which are printed in large format and feature people dressed in club wear, drawing you into the frame and making you feel as if you are part of the scene.
All of this, enhanced by the setting of the barn, creates an intimate and visceral exhibition and makes the atmosphere feel more palpable and real.
Open Wednesday-Sunday from 13:00-18:00 in the Sluisdeurenloods
Free entrance!
