The first E*Cinema program, The Pinhole Perspective, is dedicated to French filmmaker and photographer Jérôme Schlomoff (1961).
Schlomoff puts the world upside down and mirrors it with the help of the prick of a needle in an otherwise dark box. The man behind the camera can only guess what the device, which has no lens or viewer, will reveal about his favorite model: the city. Schlomoff became well-known in the mid-80s with his photoportraits of contemporary artists. In 2000 he built a 35mm pinhole cinecamera, which he has used ever since to make movies. Schlomoff lives and works in Amsterdam. He will be present for an introduction and interview by Mark-Paul Meyer (Filmmuseum) and Anna Abrahams (Filmbank).
