ISBN

Expo ISBN is an eclectic group of international artists from diverse creative backgrounds and artistic practices that gathers every two months to collaborate and exhibit. In order to harness their creative forces a book is chosen by one of the members as a link between and starting point for the work to be created by each artist within the period of a month. The artistic interpretation of the literary content and/or the physical material of the book as such (i.e. paper, cover image, words etc.) will be exhibited every two months at De Zwarte Ruyter, Rotterdam. The group is keen to invite “guest readers” for each session and exhibition in order to extend creative analysis and expression.
The connections and interplay between literature, fine art and new media is what the group aspires to explore, looking closely at how literary text can function as a source of inspiration and a foundation for thought processes.
