Capturing the Moving Mind is a conference on board the Trans-Siberian train, discussing the new forms of movement and control, war and economy in the current situation.

m-cult and Kiasma realize the web documentation of the event, as it moves from Helsinki through Moscow and Novosibirsk to its destination in Beijing. The 50 international researchers, artists and activists participating in the conference form a mobile production unit aboard the train. For their audiovisual streams, Adam Hyde (NZ) and Luka Princic (SI) have developed a 'mobicasting' platform which enables the mobile transmission of material along the itinerary.

The opening seminar on "Aesthetics of Resistance" takes place at Kurvi on September 7, 15-19. The borderline of art, economy and politics will be discussed, among others, by Jussi Vähämäki and Akseli Virtanen (Tutkijaliitto), Tuula Karjalainen (Kiasma), Jordan Crandall (US), Bracha Ettinger (IL) and Pierre Gillet de Monthoux (SE).
