HISTOIRE NATURELLE III - Peter Korver 2010

"Histoire Naturelle I - II and III" , three new paintings for the entrance of a 1790's Urban Palazzo on the Amsterdam canals - once the Residence of Napoleons Gouverneur to the Netherlands.

In an 18th c. style avian gallery, birds hang around with Napoleonic memorabilia, allthough the doors of their cages seem to be wide open. What ensues is a series of strange and ambivalent images about freedom.
