distURBANce is a floating platform of discussion, exchange and elaboration on urbanity in flux, conducting an unaffiliated hospitable network of like-minded practitioners who deal with cities, informal urban transformations, self-organisation and post-conflict situations currently working from Erbil, Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.
Together, Anna Wachtmesiter and Francesca Recchia have created distURBANce.
Anna has lived and worked all over the world. She was educated in the UK and has held many jobs in the fields of design, urban practices in architecture, art and research. She is currently working in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Francesca is a researcher and a lecturer. She is currently teaching in the Sociology Department at the University of Kurdistan-Hawler and has lectured internationally.
