This very old cafe is a moderately famous Tehran feature for tourists and journalists, diplomats and “intellectual” locals alike. It’s central location (close to the British Embassy) and spaciously withdrawn canteen feel make it a convenient bolthole if the city traffic madness gets too much. High and grimy windows nevertheless flood the space with sunlight pleasantly filtered through what passes for a garden in Tehran.
