Blending step by step
We provide a robust selection of natural and synthetic aromatic molecules, perfumer’s alcohol, beakers and droppers, scent strips and bottles, and some light and friendly guidance. First, and with guidance, choose your favourite ones from our perfume organ. After which you will fill your vials with your materials and your scent will take the first shape. Following, you create and edit your first perfumery formula. You will have up to 10 trials to reach the perfect scent.
With a ticket, you are welcome between 16.00 and 20.00 in our Aroma Lab. To run through all the blending steps we advise to take 2 to 2,5 hours. 
Open access perfume blending: Open sessions
Started in 2013, Open Sessions are a crucial part of the Institute for Art and Olfaction's mission to provide access to the tools and materials of scent. With this, the IAO provides a space for first timers and professional perfumers alike to learn and to expand their craft through direct action. During the four weeks residency of IAO in Amsterdam, the team brings their knowledge to Mediamatic's Aroma Lab.
