ARCAM

ARCAM Amsterdam Centre for Architecture was set up as a foundation in 1986 and concentrates its activities in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. ARCAM aims to reach the largest possible public in order to broaden architecture's appeal and zeros in on topical issues and developments in Amsterdam, so that the discussion about the future is constantly fuelled.

ARCAM also serves as a co-ordination centre and collaborates with a large number of institutes to support and co-ordinate existing programmes and to initiate new activities.

Information point
ARCAM has an information point that offers information for the public and where architecture aficionados can be directed to interesting buildings and sites in the city. ARCAM also has an extensive collection of books on architecture, magazines, folders, sites, maps and a collection of newspaper cuttings for scrutiny by the public. The aforementioned publications provide a wealth of information for those interested in architecture and urban planning, and can help them find interesting buildings and sites in Amsterdam. Another component of the information point is the Current Affairs bulletin board, which covers a selection of topical news and development items in the fields of architecture, urbanism and landscape.

Exhibitions & ARCAM PANORAMA
The exhibition programme is varied and focuses the spotlight on architects, buildings, urban development, architecture abroad and other themes related to architecture. ARCAM organises an average of five exhibitions topical issues every year.
