Jan Jedenak and Jonas Klinkenberg
Jedenak and Klinkenberg are Germany-based artists and performers. They are involved with Mediamatic's Olfactory History of Oosterdok project. One of their ongoing projects 'Private Dreams and Public Nightmare' is a immersive installation that researches occult fears and dreams. The project incorporates ghost stories and other-worldly events. During the lecture, Jedenak and Klinkenberg will perform a seance and try to talk to Little Red Riding Hood.
Jasper de Groot
Jasper de Groot is an Utrecht-based researcher. He studies the underestimated human sense of smell, in particular the human capacity to communicate fear. In his research, Jasper integrates approaches from psychology to neuroscience, genotyping and chemical analysis.
Dik van der Meulen
Van der Meulen is a writer and researcher that works with the ARTIS zoo and has written a book about the relationship between wolves and humans. His book was awarded the Jan Wolkers prize in 2017.
Frank Bloem
Bloem is a resident perfumer and does weekly workshops at Mediamatic. He will talk about some of the smells that amusement parks spread to influence their guests and the important smells present in the story of Little Red Riding Hood.
