During Dutch Design Week, visual and performance artist Jesse Asselman becomes a living, breathing house plant at Natlab. With the help of body paint and make-up, they fully immerse themselves into the house plant role, inviting us to get closer to the non-human others we share our space and planet with.

Jesse Asselman

Jesse Asselman is a visual artist, painter and performer. With an inter-disciplinary background in theatre, art and medicine, they have a long-held fascination for creative practices and processes. They attended the Gerrit Rietveld Academie between 2014 and 2019, where performance became the central theme around which other media gravitated (including painting, writing, sound, costume design and installations).
