Guidelines for Role Model posts

Website technicalities:

To create a new role model page, first create a new article on the website. You can then fill in and edit your article, before adding it to the role model collection. To add your article there, go to the role model collection page, click on 'Admin', and then under 'Contains' in the menu, click '+add' and type in then name of the article you want to add. 

Also separately create a person page for the person you are writing about. This will exist independently on the website and just contain a short bio, which doesn't need to specifically refer to the person's neurodivergence but just highlight their overall achievements. 

Make sure the 'Content group' for the role model article should be 'a/Artist content group', but for the person page it should always be 'Default content group'! 

Content:

Each Role Model post is about 500 words, with a minimum of 2 pictures and links to the person's work. The post should include a short introduction, text about their relationship to neurodivergence and connecting this to their practice. Aim to include quotes from interviews and their own experiences. Make sure not to forget to complete their person page as well, if they have not already been featured on the website! 

Website formatting: 

• MLA for referencing 
• Subheadings: size Heading 3 
• Quotes formatted as “block quote”, (max 3)

Basic:

1. Title

• Create a personalised title for each artist 

1. Subtitle

• (Name of artist) ‘s (quality)

1. Introduction

• Brief intro on the artist’s work
• Include birth year
• End with a personalized guiding sentence to the subsequent content

Content: 

• Artist’s personal experience with neurodivergence (2-3 paragraphs)
• “A role model for…” [Heading 3]
• 2-4 paragraphs
• use subtitles when necessary [Italics]
• References [Heading 3]
• Here are some more resources about … , and how he/she serves as a positive example of autistic representation:
  
  
• Add relevant links to interviews/artwork using Insert/edit line. 
• Be extra careful when using images found online. Check Usage Rights in Google image search and choose Creative Commons Licenses. Put source in the image’s page.
