The Austrian artist Eva-Maria Raab lives and works in Vienna and Paris. Working with multiple media, ranging form photography, sculpture, performance and installation, she focuses on the question of time, especially its digitalization through modern technologies. By analyzing their mediatizing effects, Raab also questions stereotypes and standards relating to photography and architecture.
Referring to phenomena like social online networks, she systematically scrutinise its practise and usefulness concerning individual and mass, present and past, communication and isolation, presence and absence.
The faceBOOK project (2011-2012) refers to the social network platform facebook and investigates the visual codes of the 'default-profile-picture'.
