This year 4 new Mediamatic Magazines came out.

In several articles the video art culture in Japan, Lithuania, Russia and France is being discussed. France is seen as a forerunner of electronic media in Europe, in Moscow you are at risk as a media artist, video art in Lithuania is emerging and in the 80s there is a rich video art culture of Japan even without much funding.

Mediamatic Magazine 2#3 front cover - This cover, with a photo by Ben van Duin, was printed in metallic ink for the special graphic effect. The newsstand sales of this issue were the lowest ever. This may have been caused the dark colors and the actual image that confused potential buyers about the content of the magazine. The baby on the cover was Jacob, the newborn son of Ben van Duin and Annette Palstra. Willem Velthoven,
