Krijn van Noordwijk

Krijn shoots people.

In previous lives, Krijn has worked as a creative director and art director in several international advertising agencies (DDB, TBWA, LOWE, OGILVY). Krijn was a board member in the ADCN, the Dutch Art Directors Club, as well as a board member in the ADCE, the Art Directors Club Europe. He founded his own creative shop 'LABORATORIVM' in 1996. In this Lab art, music, graphics and advertising were all mixed. In 2006, Krijn broke away to focus on photography. Krijn's work combines graphic but classical aesthetics with a contemporary view on people and their emotions. Inspired by (in no particular order) Jimi Hendrix, Rembrandt van Rijn, Bettina Rheims, DJ Krush, Piet Mondriaan, Johannes Vermeer, Annie Leibovitch, Johnny Burnette, Mark Quinn, Charles Saatchi, David Lachapelle, Joel Peter Witkin, Robert Longo, Jurassic Five, Francis Bacon, Man Ray, Donald Duck and many many others.

In the recent PANL Awards Krijn won the members award in portraits- non commisioned. His work is featured in many magazines in the Netherlands, like Vrij Nederland, CODE, Elle, Adformatie, NRC Next and more.
