Liz McQuiston's account of women in design celebrates their increasing intervention as designers by producing a sourcebook on the lives and work of contemporary women practitioners, with accompanying interviews and illustrations. One of her main objectives is to demonstrate that women are working on an international level in non-traditional areas areas of design such as architecture, industrial en environmental design, as well as in the stereotypically 'feminine' activities such as fashion, textiles, jewelry and illustration. Above all she is optimistic of the probable improvement in opportunities for women.
