What you will do
For over two years we've learned how to build with waste mycelium. In this workshop we'll teach you what we've learned so far; practically as well as from a metaphorical perspective.
We will introduce you to the living material. Its challenges, its amazing properties, the culture surrounding it.
We will talk about pigeons, about pigeon towers and about pigeon poop.
We will talk about oyster mushrooms and why they are such a great alternative to meat.
And then Arne will introduce you to the towers he already built. You will get hands-on with the material as we collectively continue to build on the latest tower outside in the public space around Mediamatic.
You will receive an art newspaper made by Arne Hendriks
Arne Hendriks
Arne Hendriks is an artist and researcher on human ecology. He believes we should be more generous towards ourselves in allowing radical new ideas and practices to re-define our relationship with the planet. In his practice, he focusses on the process instead of a result. By patiently letting the findings of his research be his guide, he allows himself to constantly shift views and perspectives and discover new realities within his topic.
