Loes Bogers
Former new media student who has developed a particular curiosity for new media arts.
Loes Bogers worked as a project manager for the Urban Projection project at the MediaLAB, Amsterdam. Urban Projection is one of the names for an urban trend, where predominantly iconic buildings are used as rich and telling canvases for the projection of video art. In addition, Loes worked as a freelancer on different projects in the field of web development, graphic design and photography, and chaired the social committee of the course's student association: Off-Screen for which she also designed most of the promotional materials.
This autumn, Loes will commence the MA Interactive Media: Critical Theory and Practice at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is hoping to get a chance to integrate her academic background in cultural and media theory with the more practical experience she gained in concept development and project management. After her studies she will be looking to gain more experience in production and project management in the increasingly converging creative industries and new media arts.
Loes Bogers recently obtained her Bachelor's degree in New Media at the University of Amsterdam. She wanted to explore her creative side more and try her luck at craftsmanship in the arts. This took her to University of Technology Sydney, Australia, where she studied Media Arts and Production, focusing on locative media projects and social networking concepts. Back in Amsterdam she applied for a place in the MediaLAB to finish her studies with a final project rather than just a thesis.
