What you will do
The workshop will start with a brief history and chemistry of soap making. You will learn the cold process method and by the end know how to cut cure and store your finished soap. Liza Witte will give you insider knowledge on the best oils and ingredients. Add color, nutrient oils or clay to personalise your soap.
After the workshop you will leave your soap to rest at Mediamatic and pick it up after 48 hours. As the saponification process takes a bit of time, you will be able to safely use it on your body after 6 weeks. For this workshop no previous experience is necessary. We will provide all the ingredients and equipment needed, including a simple mould and safety gear. As this is a messy workshop, please dress for mess with long sleeves.
