Niels van Poecke

Niels van Poecke (1983) studied art and culture sciences and philosophy at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He finished his studies in philosophy with research into Greek tragedy and the philosophy of Nietzsche in the context of the birth of blues music. This resulted in the publishing of De tragiek van de tragedie (The tragedy of the tragedy), about Nietzsche, Wagner, and blues music (Klement, Kampen, 2008). At the moment he is a lecturer in Aesthetics and Sociology of Arts and Culture at the Department of Arts and Culture Studies. In addition, as of January 2018, he works as Double Degree and Events coordinator for the Rotterdam Arts and Sciences Lab (RASL).
