The Aquaponics Group will meet at the Van Gendthallen to talk about how to extract the heat from the LED-lighting, and how to build a system that uses that heat to heat the water in our aquarium. We will also test the PH-values of the water we are using right now, and we'll make a shopping list for the upcoming building weekend. Feel free to stop by. Arnd checking the auto-siphon - The auto-siphon allow the grow bed to fill to the required level before triggering a siphon effect which drains the water from the bed.

Measuring NO3 level - In the aquaponic cycle, ammonia is converted to nitrite by nitrosomonas bacteria. When the nitrite level in the water reach a certain point, other bacteria, nitrobacter, convert nitrite to nitrate, which are less harmful to the fishes.
