About my work:
You can always find a character that is covered
In my work I try to bring about a transformation of the person, to create a figure that carries with it something imminent.
My collages/ paintings exist from a combination of several techniques: collage, drawing, ink and watercolour on paper. You can always find a character that is covered.
These figures with their skin, face and clothing, are hidden almost entirely behind fragments cut out of illustrated magazines.
Some identity is lost because parts of the body are covered. A shadow carries a skin made of leaves and flowers. The face seems to be overgrown, forming a mask. Only the silhouette continues preserved.
The figure or silhouette that you now see could be your own shadow: that, which you sometimes unexpectedly encounter and which could also scare you a little.
