My name is Jess, I'm from London and whilst at Mediamatic I was working towards my MA in Comparative Cultural Analysis at the UvA.
After studying Art History at the University of Edinburgh, I have been researching in the field of the environmental humanities, specifically the representation of the climate crisis in auteur documentary film.
During my studies I decided to join Mediamatic where I was responsible for the Meet a Maker and Odorama events. Here I was exposed to the wonderful world of the olfactory arts, and together with the Aroma Lab team, we created sample kits for Odorama and Odeuropa. I also conducted some independent research into practices of the Lebensreform movement in relation to the work of Ruchama Noorda, developed the communication strategy for the Bon. gift card and expanded the Mediamatic webshop.
After Mediamatic I will be joining the IDFA team as an intern and finishing my MA.
