As designer, researcher and educator my aim is to realise ideas that are in a way provocative. Since this way of communication makes people reflect on that what they take for granted; the habits and thoughts they are comfortable with, which ultimately may not be comfortable for them at all. Art lends itself well to provocation and science is essentially the argument of where the (dis)comfort lies.
With a background in Industrial Design Engineering (BSc) at TU Delft, conducting research within an interdisciplinary art and design program at the Royal College of Art (MRes) and teaching a research and design course at Technasium education, I operate in the middle of hard sciences and art. What I like most about my work as a project lead is to act as a catalyst between the more rational, scientific approaches and the seemingly more implicit and abstract artistic point of view.
