As a Master Student in Media Technologies at Leiden University Jonas is familiar with computer interfaces and the practice of machinima. He was trainer at a Sims 2 machinima workshop for kids at the Cinekid Festival. Jonas: “The difference between kids and adults working with machinima is enormous. The kids needed a laid-out plan and had to use specific tools and techniques. The Mediamatic workshop was much more open and allowed for more experimenting, at the risk of people getting lost in the technical details. But due to the four different expertises of Friedrich, Mark, Daniel and me, everyone could do the things they wanted to do."
Jonas himself was also quite surprised of the results of the workshop: “My view on machinima has broadened very much, the combination of the four trainers was very fruitful and I learned and experienced many new things about machinima."
