David installation -

David Kerssens Goedhart is an artist, photographer and recent graduate of the Audio-Visual department from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. He believes that communicating simple observations can lead to profound contemplation and pure joy. With his work, he explores fundamental and almost traditional notions of art along with their place in a postmodern and relativist cultural landscape.

David is the creator of what is known as “Machine No.2”. This is a piece made from steel that drops helicopter seeds and transports them around again. This cyclical process is achieved by means of an air and valve system. by creating the journey that seeds take through this mechanical installation, viewers can experience the joy that comes with natural phenomena in a fashion beyond mere image.

Over summer 2021 David is building up and revising Machine No.2 in the Mediamatic barn. The installation will be on view till mid september.
