Jorn Konijn (18th July 1977, Hoorn, The Netherlands) is an architect & design curator and writer based in Amsterdam. He curated several exhibitions, such as the official Dutch pavilion for the International Architecture Biennale of Sao Paulo (Brazil) on Unsolicited Architecture, the award winning Housing with a Mission exhibition for the Urbanism & Architecture Bi-City Biennale of Hong Kong and Shenzhen 2011 and the exhibition Lelé – Architect of health and happiness for the Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi) in 2012. In 2013 he was curator for the overall Urbanism & Architecture Bi-City Biennale of Hong Kong and Shenzhen 2013. In 2015, he was appointed as curator of the 5th Bienal Brasileira de Design, which took place in Florianopolis, Brazil May 2015. After the biennale, the exhibition continued to travel through Brazil to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Recently, he was appointed as curator for an exhibition on the work of Dutch artist Claudy Jongstra, for Het Fries Museum in The Netherlands.
Jorn Konijn was trained as an art-historian and screen-writer at the University of Amsterdam. After living in Los Angeles and Sao Paulo, he worked for various Dutch cultural organisations, such as the Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture, the Mondriaan Foundation and the SICA – Dutch Centre for International Cultural Activities. He has lead several cultural missions for the Dutch Ministry of Culture to India and Brazil and a large-scale mapping of the Brazilian cultural field in 2009. Apart from this, he is also a radio dj for the independent Amsterdam radio station Red Light Radio.
