During Rietveld UnCut de Brakke Grond will be transformed into a fictional film set. Friday evening November 27th the various departments of the art academy will present a dynamic program supervised by guest director, artist Maze De Boer. Students experiment with the possibilities that a framework of a film set has to offer; ranging from props to posters, trailers to performance, set to soundtrack and everything in between. Visitors will be challenged to interact. With a green room that has been turned into a Cloakroom and rattling sewing machines in the Sweatshop, among others.
Responding to and working with this ‘film set in progress’ created by the students, curator and artist Jean Bernard Koeman has compiled a programme for Saturday 16:00 – 18:30 that deals with experiment and fictional reality. There will be lectures and a debate on the subject: What if artworks are not about occupying place but about occupying time? With Flemish and Dutch guests, among them Vaast Colson, HAP, Miet Warlop, Jean Bernard Koeman and students & teachers at the Rietveld Academie (guests with reservation).
