Participation Mystique is a collective originally formed in 2006 by Melanie Bonajo and Kinga Kielczynska. It was started as an extension of the Modern Life of the Soul project and book into the field of performance. The collective promotes spiritual related values and redefines the neo age consciousness based on the the search of the inner personal path. It makes performances and videos, as well as lectures, events, and participations.

Guy Edmonds will give a presentation about the shared origins of film technology and spiritual mediumship in a late nineteenth century world of haunted media. He will explore the contemporary response to the Cinématographe, as a means of overturning the finality of death, in the light of spiritualists’ fervent desire to contact the dead.
