In the spirit of Pride, Mediamatic is presenting an ode to a playground for self expression and identity in a fun and intimate setting. MediaMasquerade is created by Taka and Niki and is a garment-based performance workshop open to all genders, sexualities, and ages. MediaMasquerade invites you to explore the use of garments, as a medium for self-expression, in a space that encourages discovery and creativity. The range of activities may include character building, costume-making and make-up, scenography, improvisation, voice expression and theatricality.
Taka and Niki provide an intimate 3 hours workshop which will conclude with a performance by the participants.
Materials required for craft-making activities and make up are provided. You are welcome to bring your own materials if you would like.
