'Portraits of Noord' door Ahmed Kamel - Ahmed Kamel has made portraits in cities, for example Berlin and Istanbul. In Noord he also met people at their homes, and photographed them in their own surroundings. Ahmed Kamel has made portraits in Berlin, Istanbul and other cities. In Noord he looked for families and photographed them in their most intimate setting: their living room. Foundland find themselves inspired by the many fairytale aspects of Noord. Wandering around, they were surprised by the number of garden gnomes, fake frogs, and Indiana Jones style twists and turns in the urban Noord streetscape. 'My Burglar and I' door Kaweh Modiri - from kaweh modiri. The poster of his final project at the Rietveld academy. Kaweh lives in an abandoned factory in Amsterdam-Noord. One night a burglar stole his laptop. Miraculously, he retrieves the laptop, and finds four hours of footage the burglar made of himself. Kareem Lotfy spend hours with people from Noord that normally stay unvisible and never come to the center of attention. His interviews aren't lineary stories, but give space to lives that are lived unseen, in another language. 'Slakkenboerderij' door Wietske Maas - "Snail Farm" made by Wietske Maas in the display cabinet in front of the Mediamatic exhibition space. Wietske Maas has developed a recipe map of Noord's edibles: an archetypal dish of Amsterdam Noord. Her snail farm was outside Mediamatic Bank held with hundreds of snails climbing the walls and dusting the floors of the glass vitrines along the Vijzelstraat. 'Gentrification Battlefield' door Golfstromen - Videogame installation about the gentrification in Noord – made by Golfstromen for the Noord exhibiton. Golfstromen has turned the gentrification battle in Noord into a video game. Relaxed (or tensed) in a Chesterfield people enjoyed some 8-bit vintage goodness. Golfstromen maakte een videospel van de gentrificatiestrijd in Noord, onderuitgezakt in, of op het puntje van, een Chesterfield, in het schijnsel van de kamerlamp speelden mensen het spel. ‘Temporary office Silent Investors' door Sarah van Sonsbeeck - A project by Sarah van Sonsbeeck Noord is a transitional borough, continuously under attack by urban development and gentrification plans. Sarah van Sonsbeeck has acquired a piece of land, and returned it to the inhabitants of Noord. After filling in a form, visitors received their grain of Noord. Noord is een stadsdeel in transitie, en wordt gebombardeerd met stedelijke vernieuwingsprojecten. Sarah van Sonsbeeck maakte een stuk land meester en gaf het terug aan de inwoners van Noord. Video-installatie door Malak Helmy - Multimedia installation made by Malak Helmy at the Noord exhibition. During the summer of 2010 Malak Helmy got her feet wet with some of Noord's best synchronized swimmers. The result? A beautiful, poetic video installation about Noord and about living as an individual in a group. Malak Helmy rolde deze zomer haar broekspijpen op met een aantal van Noords beste synchroonzwemmers. Mediamatic divided the voters of Noord in three groups: trusting Mankind, trusting God and trusting nobody. And the people that didn't vote - belong to which group? Mediamatic verdeelde de kiezers van Noord in 3 groepen: vertrouwend op de mensheid, vertrouwend op God en niemand vertrouwend. She depicted all these values together in one colourfull infographic. Malkit Shoshan verzamelde verschillende data over Noord, van sociale, culturele en economische betekenis om deze data samen te brengen in kleurige infographics van de verschillende buurten in Noord. During the summer in Noord Mahmoud Hamdy focused on the relationship between Noord and Amsterdam Centrum. By focusing on the social and cultural history of Noord, he came to realize that the distance between Noord and the city center isn't so much a physical distance, but a psychological one. ‘Noordelijk Character(istics)’ door Ganzeer - Slidable installation made by Ganzeer. Ganzeer turned the characteristics of Noord into actual characters. Via the characters you travel through time and discover what Noord looked like and how it has changed. The work will hang in the municipality building. Ganzeer onderzocht de geschiedenis, tijdsgeesten en karakteristieken van Noord.
