My name is Monai Nailah McCullough, a horticulturalist from New York City with a passion for linking large urban cities to nature and the future of sustainable food systems. For me, living in NYC, I have never felt disconnected from nature; whether it is clinging onto memories of New York State, foraging leaves and identifying birds in my vibrant Queens neighborhood or collecting 75+ houseplants (...still growing).
I believe in people and I believe that supporting one another using, practicing, and bringing awareness to new food production systems, urban gardening and more conscious living can not only improve the way food is consumed, but also, revolutionize gardening as we know it. Guerrilla Gardening explores how we can directly impact and involve our communities to create a better tomorrow.
